The miracle of rope
18 May 2007Rope has been around as long as men and women can remember. Yesterday I got some rope myself from my dear girlfriend who wants to prepare me for our sailing trip. So the moment I started practising knots with the rope I totally lost my self in the “miracle” called “rope”. I know it sounds a bit silly but in our daily life we forget how great and beautiful simple things like a piece of rope can be.
Just a few examples of the miracles that rope can perform:

You see there are so many things you can do with rope. And you know what the greatest thing is? There is no end in sight for the use of rope. Our children and our children’s children will still be using rope on a daily basis. Of course at a certain moment rope will be replaced and sometimes is already replaced by steel cables or a weird kind of fiber. But hey, ever tried to make a knot with a steel cable? Sounds like a superman-only ability to me.
Anyhow, next time you tie someone up or pull a donkey with a rope just stand still for a moment and think:
“It’s a small miracle called rope”
